Ensuring Adequate, Efficient and Equitable Finance in Schools in the Asia-Pacific Region

UNESCO Bangkok office has recently published a new report called “Ensuring Adequate, Efficient and Equitable Finance in Schools in the Asia-Pacific Region”.

This report reflects on the current situation in the Asia-Pacific region from the school finance perspective. It particularly focuses on school scholarships as a major financing and management reform strategy, and reviews three aspects of school financing: adequacy, efficiency and equity.

The study’s objective is to strengthen school finance policies in order to ensure high quality education. The report provides a regional overview of school financing pattern, practices and issues, analyses data and explains the predominant trends in financial system at school level.

Ten countries: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Uzbekistan and Viet Nam have participated in this study.
