The Global EFA week took place on 6-13 April 2003. The theme of the week this year is "Building Momentum to Eliminate Gender Gaps by 2005". The EFA week was an occation to recall all six EFA goals, and to boost efforts at all levels and by all partners. The UN Literacy Decade is also launched in Astana, Bishkek and Dushanbe during the EFA week.
