UNESCO Almaty in cooperation with Tajikistan National Commission for UNESCO conducted a two day workshop ”Infostructures for Sustainable Development and Good Governance”. Fifteen education instructors of information and communication technologies met to exchange their experience in Dushanbe, Tajikistan on 11-12 October 2011.
"From three to three and a half thousand Tajikistan teachers each year implement capacity building courses in our institute. The proposed by UNESCO training system for building sustainable infostructures, even in the absence of the Internet, will enable the trainers to create their own resources: websites of schools, e-libraries of reading materials, open and distance learning courses (ODL), and online school contests. In this connection, we plan to present to the Minister of Education of the Republic of Tajikistan, our cascade training project", said the director of ICT center of the national teacher training institute Mr. Bobo Gayurov.The aim of the seminar - to create favourable conditions for the establishment of sustainable infostructures was achieved by applying basic skills in open and distance learning approach based on free and open source software technology. Education instructors and information professionals were trained in basic social construction of reality through practical use of open and distance learning technologies. Exchange of experience in conditions of the increasing quantity of digital content helped to the participants to better understand and apply the new features in the context of their institutional needs.
The partner organization - Kazakhstan National ICT Center assisted in training, focusing on the production by trainees of their own content with the long-term users support.
Deputy director of the Dushanbe boarding school #3 for children with special needs, Ms. Olambi Sharipova said - We are working with the school group of children, where standard solutions do not function, for instance children need learning games. The workshop methods advised by trainer combine variety of multimedia tools. I think it is good for the learning of children with special needs.
