President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev met with the Secretary-General elect of the United Nations, reports Akorda press service.
The parties expressed their confidence in the fruitful cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Organization in the framework of Kazakhstan’s non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council.
The President of Kazakhstan noted that A. Guterres would have to work in new extremely difficult geopolitical conditions prevailing in the world today.
"You can count on the support of Kazakhstan in your complex activity as Secretary-General ", - said Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The Head of the State underlined that Kazakhstan has already established trusting and constructive relations with the United Nations.
Antonio Guterres thanked President for his warm attitude toward his work as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and expressed hope for further successful cooperation.
The President invited the Secretary-General elect to pay a visit to Kazakhstan in his future official capacity.
