The results of the youth creative contest "Music for Peace and Development" call for participants from Kazakhstan

On 19 September, 2018, the winners of "Music for Peace and Development" creative contest were identified.br>

Applications were received during the period from 17 August to 17 September 2018, in three categories: 1. "Music for Peace" (ideas for how music can contribute to the strengthening of peace, the development of intercultural dialogue, friendship and tolerance). 2. "Music - Generation CONNECT" (ideas about how music can contribute to reducing the gap between generations). 3. "Music is Our Heritage" (ideas about how you can contribute to the preservation of musical heritage, the inculcation of interest in Kazakh traditional music among young people). A total of about 90 applications were received, but only 44 project ideas were pre-selected by the form filling criteria.

The jury evaluated the works according to the following criteria: • compliance with the nomination; • creative approach to the project development; • possibility of the project execution; • artistry, originality and expressiveness; • use of innovative ideas; • contribution to the SDGs.

Having deliberated, the jury decided on the winners in the three categories:

Winner in the nomination "Music for Peace":
Daria Sheveleva (17 years old) with the project "Songs Without Borders" Winner in the nomination "Music - Generation CONNECT":
Askar Mirzayev (22 years old) with the project MTG - Music Through Generations Winner in the nomination "Music is Our Heritage":
Talgat Zhusipbek (31 years) with the project "100 Kazakh Songs"

Serkan Ayazbayev, Vice-President of the Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs.
Sabina Akzharova, Secretary General of the Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs.
Damir Urazimbetov, Master of Arts, Deputy Head of the Chair "Directing Choreography" of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts. T. Zhurgenova.
Arina Myassoyed, Programme Specialist of the Social and Human Sciences Sector, UNESCO in Almaty.
Denis Bobylev, former. General producer of the music TV channel "Hit TV", screenwriter, independent TV presenter.
