The UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) has just released a new edition of the SDG 4 Data Book, presenting the latest results for the global indicators used to monitor progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4).
Available in English, French and Spanish, the report showcases data coverage for each SDG 4 indicator by region and a snapshot of global and regional trends, in addition to country-level data from 2010 to the school year ending in 2017.To complement the Data Book, the UIS has also developed a series of related products to help stakeholders – from countries and donors to civil society groups and technical partners – use the findings in their efforts to get all children in school and learning by 2030.
To learn more about SDG 4 data:
• The Quick Guide to Education Indicators for SDG 4 describes the process of developing and producing the global monitoring indicators, while explaining how to use and interpret them.
• The SDG 4 Data Visualizations display data by country, region or year; by data source; and by sex, location and wealth. Users can explore the measures of equality that are crucial for the achievement of SDG 4.
• With SDG 4 Country Profiles, users can download a snapshot of their country’s data in PDF format.
• The UIS global education database covers all levels of education for about 200 countries and territories, with a dedicated section grouping global and thematic indicators.
